END EDUCATION INEQUALITY
Quality education should be accessible to everyone.

Education SHOULD lead to more equality

Our society emphasizes education as the way to rise up in society to get a better life. However, schools in poor neighborhoods aren't being as well funded as schools from rich neighborhoods. This affects the education and lives of the kids in those poorer neighborhoods. This inequality will remain prevalent in their adult lives unless we do something.

This imbalance of funding affects BIPOC the most

Schools with 90 percent or more students of color spend $733 less per student per year than schools with 90 percent or more white students.

Lack of resources

Schools from low-income neighborhoods often have old textbooks, less qualified teachers, fewer guidance counselors, and offer less classes compared to schools in high-income neighborhoods.
Schools in high-income neighborhoods are more likely to offer electives and field trips. They are also stored with technology such as Chromebooks, projectors, and digital whiteboards.

The School-to-Prison Pipeline

The school-to-prison Pipeline is the process in which students are pushed into prison. This is done by harshly punishing students for offenses. These punishments include suspensions and expulsions. This will eventually lead students in contact with law enforcement.

Students from disadvantaged backgrounds are more likely to be incarcerated.
Black kids are more likely to be suspended for minor offenses compared to white kids.
